Round Trip Transatlantic Cruise
Situations began out a bit far better than Thursday but not significantly. The day started out a lot like Sunday, finishing my 5-mile walk about 8. When I began my walk we had been due west of Halifax, and the moon was shining brightly. An additional significance of the financial supervisor good feature of Cunard’s Eastbound transatlantics is that time modifications are completed at noon rather than providing up an hour of sleep most nights. I think I could have walked back to the ship in less time but we have been not provided that option.
The wind was stronger than Thursday morning still coming from the west but at 40kt I could feel a distinct headwind walking from forward to aft. I limited my morning stroll to 7 laps, two ½ miles, and was ready to be at the laundry space when it opened at 7:30. I decided to take my stroll on inside corridors, and finished just in time to get a load of wash in the laundry when it opened at 7:30. QM2 will by no means be my favourite ship but it has usually been superbly suited to transatlantic crossings.

On her morning show Entertainment Director Jo Halley (I feel my initially time with her) interviewed the day’s Cunard Insights speakers. We had been 138 miles South of Seal Island (two villages but no permanent residents) NS. We have gone 368 miles with 2731 to go and by my GPS 90 miles ahead of the similar imm boat lifts time on my January crossing. I spent a couple hours there ahead of continuing to Southampton Central to gather my tickets for a day trip to London tomorrow.
We left about 7:30, in great time for the 7:45 welcome show.
With a really busy morning and shoes nevertheless damp from Southampton I kept my morning walk on the short side, 5 laps or about 1 ½ miles. The morning seemed a bit warmer than the previous days but not actually warm, and there was evidence of current rain but the skies started out dry. I went up to Kings Court for coffee just just before six, and walked five miles (14 laps) on the promenade deck. We left about 7:30, in excellent time for the 7:45 welcome show.
Jeff Stevenson created a couple of references Wednesday evening (pardoning the turkey, etc), and we had particular entree and desert in the Dining Area but that was it. Even though I saw no reference to Thanksgiving when in Southampton, what appears to have taken hold internationally is Black Friday. Involving a busy morning and footwear nevertheless wet I walked a modest 6 laps (1.eight miles) on the Promenade Deck ahead of heading back upstairs to place a load of laundry in the washer.
The wind howled outside my window most of the night but had subsided somewhat when I woke at 5. I spent a lot of my morning updating my bank records and left the hotel a small after 7. I had booked an eight:24 train to London and right after a breakfast cease arrived at Southampton Central just just before 8. The train was slower than I thought, just over 2 hours each and every way. When again I walked 2 ½ miles or 7 laps on the Promenade Deck.
QM2 will under no circumstances be my favourite ship but it has constantly been superbly suited to transatlantic crossings. At ten there was no room readily available so I left my bags with the concierge and began walking.
